The Water Sensor Probe, on the other hand, is designed to detect water only at the probe located at the end of the cable. In contrast, the Sensor Cable is capable of detecting water along the entire length of the cable.
When used in conjunction with the Water Leak Sensor 2 (YS7904-UC, sold separately), the YoLink Water Leak Sensor 2 is able to alert your smartphone and sound an alarm at the first signs of a water leak.
While both the Sensor Cable and the Water Sensor Probe can be used for detection, the Sensor Cable is better suited for water leak detection mode, whereas the Water Sensor Probe is more ideal for water level detection mode.
Furthermore, this Rope Sensor can be linked with multiple Rope Sensors to extend the detection area of the base unit up to 10 feet, allowing for a more comprehensive coverage.
